Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  Indeed, by faith our ancestors received approval.  By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was made from things that are not visible.    -Hebrews 11:1-3

In a world that clamors for us to do and be more and more, community - one rooted in values like love, faith, service, compassion and justice - offers an anchor and a place to bloom and grow.

That's what we seek to be - a place to belong, to become, to believe.  Together we seek to grow first as people who are changed by a relationship with God, finding faith in things we hope for and cannot see.  Then we seek to become disciples of Jesus Christ who share light and love in the world.  We worship together, serve together, learn together, pray together.  We also laugh together, share life and eat together (like good Methodists do).

Take a look around.  Join us for worship on Sunday morning or try our Messy Church on Saturday afternoons.  Come as you are.  God receives you just as you are and so will we.

Faith UMC is a
Lighthouse Congregation

As of May 1, 2023 Faith UMC was approved as an official Baltimore-Washington Conference Lighthouse Congregation!

What does this mean? In light of the current split in our denomination, some congregations have voted to leave the United Methodist Church. As a Lighthouse Congregation, we make it clear that we chose not to disaffiliate, and that we offer a place of healing, rest, and discernment for those people who wish to remain United Methodist although their home church is disaffiliating.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.   ~Matthew 5:16

Did I hear you say what is Messy Church?

It is a quarterly inter-generational worship service which emphasizes being together (fellowship), making things together (creativity & service), eating together, and celebrating God together through preaching, music, and prayer.
